- Family Solidarity: An Irish voluntary lay organization founded over 20 years ago to promote the interests of the family in Ireland.
- Membership: at present about 2,200 members
Our activities:
- A newsletter published 5/6 times a year mailed to members and available on our website
- Family Solidarity is one of a number of organisations entitled to make a pre-budget submission each year to the Minister of Social and Family Affairs. In 2006 our submission called for
- a reduction in the penal level of Stamp Duty paid by Irish families on moving house and the removal of the “tax individualization “ system which penalises families where one parent does not go out to paid work. We were unsuccessful.
- We work with and encourage other Christian groups such as the Pro-Life Movement, Youth 2000, Youth Defence, and the Christian Solidarity Party which is the only Irish political party committed to Christian principles
- We are fully behind the work of the Irish M.E.P
- Kathy Sinnott in her opposition to embryo research
- Family Solidarity is using its resources to support the efforts of a young man, Ronan Mullen to be elected to and provide a Christian voice in the Irish parliamentary upper house, the Senate
- Members of our National Executive are presently part of an initiative funded by the Knights of Saint Columbanus to find out, by the professional use of focus groups why Irish people do or do not support Christian marriage and to find effective ways to convince people that Christian marriage is the only basis for a healthy society

The Forum of family associations was founded in 1992 in Italy with the objective of bringing “family as a social subject” to public debate, on a cultural and a political level. Today 50 national associations participate in the Forum, and there are regional Forum sections in each Italian region.
The Forum’s work is intended:
- To promote and protect the values and the rights of family as “natural society based upon marriage” (Italian Constitution, 1947, Dec. 27th, articles 29, 30, 31).
To reassign to families the right of citizenship, in order to take their own place in the political life of the Country, for family is a social subject to promote, not a weak subject to help.
During these 16 years of strong work, the Forum achieved the following goals: to make Italian public opinion more aware about family; to urge the participation of families to associated activities; to develop practical proposals on which Institutions and Associations can converge.

The CFM in the Slovak Republic was founded in 1969 by the married couple Vladimír and Maria Ďurikovič. In 1990 it was registered with the Ministry of Justice as a Civil Counsel. The spiritual leaders of CFM are Cardinal J.CH. Korec and the Slovak Bishop Conference. It works throughout Slovakia. The main object of the Movement is to help creating good social and spiritual conditions, developing good relationships and raising the educational level for married couples and families. In this context several weekend FIRES programs play a significant role: the Original Marriage Encounter; the Marriage Retorno; the Son and Daughter Encounter; the Engaged Encounter; the Family Encounter, etc. The vacation exchange programme for Slovak and foreign children and the preparation of family trips in summer and in winter are very attractive for the participants. CFM organizes educational courses for animators, coordinators of FIRES programs, Family Communities and other CFM programs. It organises marriage and family seminars, conferences and general family reunions. With respect to edition work CFM publishes books for married couples, families, children and for single adults. The periodical FAMILY COMMUNITY followed by the periodical FAMILY were continuously published from the year 1985. They have a great importance for the formation of family policy, its opinion and spirituality. The several years of cooperation with the FAFCE and the International Confederation of Christian Family Movements (ICCFM) have had a fundamental influence on good family relations and the formation of family policy in Slovakia.

The Hungarian Catholic Family Association (UKF, founded in 1993) is an independent association, officially accredited by the Hungarian Catholic Episcopal Conference and a registered association in accordance with the civil law. Its activity is based on the catholic social doctrine with a focus on marriage and family, life preservation, family policy and education. These objectives are being promoted through information brokering (publications, conferences, speeches, meetings, education), through support by the relevant scientific research and in a dialogue with society. There is a cooperation with domestic and international institutions and with social groupings whose objectives are not against those of the UKF. Catholic individuals and married couples who want to be members of the UKF have to practice their faith and have to be willing to work for the implementation and the evolvement of the catholic marriage and family ideal as well as to cooperate with the family pastoral centre of their diocese individually or in a group, respectively to participate in the programmes instigated by the UKF. Relations officers for family affairs are responsible for the organisation of the UKF in each Hungarian diocese.
